Handwoven and hand spun sustainable fibers from the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
These highly textured tapestries for wall, table or floor are handwoven on a vintage four-harness wooden floor loom, with a Flying Shuttle , an invention originating in the 1700's in England and fueling the Industrial Revolution.
I gather the natural fibers from Colorado farms and ranches, hand wash, comb and handspin them on a traditional spinning wheel. All are sustainable, organically grown, never bleached or treated with harsh chemicals.
Your tapestry can be woven from a single color - cream, or shades of brown, or it may be woven from a wide variety of these hand spun Western Colorado Rocky Mountain fibers: Wolf, Navajo Churro, Alpaca, Bison, Yak, North Country Cheviot, Icelandic, Wensleydale, Llama, Merino and more. Natural colors - cream and light-to-dark shades of brown and grey, all in rugged handspun fiber.

The contributing wolf is named Chinook, who was captured in the mountains, later rescued after four miserable years tied to a tree. He now lives in a beautiful preserve high in the mountains near Dallas Divide, with peaceful walks through the forest, on a leash. Teresa lovingly combs his coat each spring to collect his beautiful fiber. His rescuers, Teresa and Al, have successfully rescued other wolves.
Other fibers are alpaca and Icelandic wool from Bad Rabbit Farm, yak from Crawford and Aspen, llamas from Rosie of Kannah Creek and her daughter Sunshine of Ridgway, Navajo Churro from Paonia, and North Country Cheviot ewes and lambs from the Bailey Ranch in the North Fork.
