An idyllic scene of three Rocky Mountain Sheep - a mother and her babies - in a verdant mountain meadow. Inspired by hiking with my big dogs (Doodles) in the high country of Colorado and Utah, occasionally catching a glimpse of Bighorn sheep.
The depiction of such sheep is a universal theme in the rock art of Colorado, Utah and other parts of the Southwestern United States.
Wet felted and needle felted by hand. Materials are studio-dyed wools - North Country Cheviot, Navajo Churro and some wisps of Curly Mohair. Much of the wool is dyed with plant-based materials. Very textured, tactile.
Cottagecore for sure! Original work made by hand in my studio on the Grand Mesa of Colorado, inspired by the changing colors of the four seasons.
Mounted on an 11" x 14" frame, ready to hang - home or office.
Could be a memorable birthday or holiday gift.
