From Spinning Wheel and Loom: Luxurious Handwoven Lap Blanket/Throw . Handspun and  Handwoven.

Soft, subtle color palette complements both traditional and contemporary settings, with the rich, heavy organic wools, cottons, and modern fibers.

Fibers incorporated are 90% organic:  Noro Wool, Handspun Wolf Fiber, Handspun North Country Cheviot and Curly Mohair, cotton, polyamide eyelash. The wolf fur is from a rescue named Chinook, hand-raised in a compound on Dallas Divide in Colorado.

In true Cottagecore fashion, I take the Softest curly cream-colored mohair (from Angora goats raised on organic pasture, untouched by any chemical process) , then handspin it on my vintage spinning wheel over a core of handspun Alpaca-Cheviot wool yarn. The loom is a vintage four-harness floor loom, one of four in my studio.

The lamb and ewe pictured below, from a sheep ranch in Hotchkiss,Colorado, are from the flock that provided the North Country Cheviot portion of the wool for warp and weft. The sheep dog is a vital, actively contributing member of the ranch. The wagon is an earlier example from the days of enormous Colorado sheep ranches when shepherds and their dogs lived alongside the flock.

The result is stunningly soft and durable yarn that is subsequently handwoven with a sturdy handspun alpaca/merino wool cord on a vintage four-harness wooden loom into a 30" x 58" weaving for your wall, sofa, or floor.

The weaving derives from 'hygge" - the Danish concept of comfort, contentment and connection, translated into Colorado Rocky Mountain fibers - a cozy addition to your living room or bedroom.

Washable, durable. Very long-lived with a little care and attention.
